The Foundational Training Programme is a one year part time programme designed for aspiring performers who wish to build the essential skills required to pursue professional training in the performing arts. It is ideal for students who may not yet be ready to commit to the full-time professional programme or who need a year of intensive development to strengthen their foundation in the triple-threat disciplines of dance, music, and drama. Through a structured year of focused training, students develop confidence, discipline, and technical ability while gaining valuable performance experience. By the end of the programme, participants will have acquired the skills and readiness to transition into our Professional Training Programme or continue with further studies in the performing arts.

AUDITIONS & INTAKE
Entry is by audition only. Students are selected annually per campus based on raw talent, commitment, and artistic potential – not just background or previous access to training

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The programme is built around four academic terms, each culminating in a performance opportunity or creative showcase. These productions provide students with hands-on experience in front of an audience while reinforcing classroom learning.
Term 1 – Introduction & Technique Building
- Focus on core foundations in acting, singing, and dance.
- Development of body awareness, vocal control, and ensemble work.
- Workshops in confidence-building and creativity.
Term 2 – Skills in Practice
- Continued technical training in each discipline.
- Introduction to musical theatre repertoire and storytelling through performance.
- First studio showcase for peers and invited guests.
Term 3 – Integration & Exploration
- Integration of acting, singing, and dance into performance pieces.
- Exploration of different styles and genres in theatre and music.
- Small-scale performance project presented to an audience.
Term 4 – Performance & Progression
- Preparation of a final end-of-year production.
- Focus on professionalism, audition skills, and reflective practice.
- Students are entered into a Trinity College of London Musical Theatre group examination, externally assessed by an international examiner, providing global recognition of their achievements.
